What I love about homeschooling

I love being with my girls plain and simple! I love hearing their thoughts and witnessing their "AHA!" moments and knowing I was a part of it.

Being able to control their exposure to inappropriate influences. Children need to be given the opportunity to stay children and not be pushed into an adult world long before they're ready. Click HERE to read more.

walkway

Daddy Llama has finished laying the front walk!

He added some new sod to level out the front yard.

He finished our front porch by adding tile to the steps as well as a railing. Doesn't it look great! Thanks Daddy Llama!

Young Chefs Academy

Off to cooking class

The girls and their teacher, a homeschool graduate!

Sampling their creation. They really love this class! This class offers more than just cooking! They learn conversions, chemical compounds, history and so much more! They are involved in the Master Chef program which allows them to earn badges for each test they pass. It's a two year program and we are almost a year into it!

Flowers, water and food dye, oh no......

After four days of our baby's breath not turning colors, we decided to scrap the experiment and do it again at a later date using a different white flower. On the second day of the experiment, I re-cut the flowers under cold water to see if I could stimulate anything but it didn't work. The flowers should have turned the color of the colored water they were sitting in so, technically, Squirrels hypothesis should have been correct.

Flowers, water and food dye, oh my!

Squirrel and I started an experiment today using Baby's Breath, water and food coloring.

We wanted to know what would happen if we put food dye into the flowers' water.

Isn't this a pretty sight?

Squirrel's hypothesis

I think the flower's will change colors.

Check back tomorrow to see if her hypothesis is correct.
